Okay, so to avoid the controversy here that I saw on Youtube, here’s what I posted there:
*****I was going to avoid this topic, but since it’s come up dozens of times in the comments. No, this is not a dig at Max (or any of the half dozen guys in RSD who have taught “natural game” before Max was ever associated with RSD or made “Natural” the name of a product). I consulted with Max before releasing this video as I’ve been sitting on the idea for over a year and didn’t want to put it out before Max’s program came out, for obvious reasons. The reason I needed to put this out is that I see so many guys running around like chickens with their heads cut off in field… all they’re doing is “state” and “self amusement”. THAT’S NOT GAME. It’s maybe a “numbers game” at best. And gaming that way will NEVER get you to an advanced level. For that, you need to cultivate skill and understanding.*****
So before we get into the video, one quick announcement:
Immersion is live in New Orleans (Mardi Gras) and New York. The spots are filling up fast though (and LA is sold out) so get in while it’s available.
Okay… on the video
And just to reiterate a major point:
The major thesis is that learning game by just “taking action” and “getting in state” can only take you so far. You have to actually focus on technique and skill at some point if you want to become advanced.
I want to clear that up, since a lot of people were confused about that point when they saw the video.
I’ve always been a big proponent of technique. Think of it this way.
Two guys want to learn to fight. One does a lot of sparring, the other one goes to learn martial arts. At first, the guy who is sparring a lot will be the better fighter, and the guy learning martial arts may be awkward and a bit lost. Over time, the guy who learned just by fighting will stop getting significantly better, but the martial artist can continue to a much higher level… with sparring a part of his training as well.
Same with game. Going out is necessary, and mentality is a big part, but it’s nowhere near the whole equation.
Again, that’s a video I’ve wanted to put out for quite a while because I see so many guys doing things in game that will never get them to an advanced level and it makes me so sad.
